Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has assured that public schools candidates writing the 2026 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will come out with outstanding results.
Prof. Arigbabu who gave the assurance during the monitoring of Civic Education subject at the ongoing WASSCE organised by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Egba axis of the State said he was optimistic of learners best performance as government too had strived to provide all necessary equipment to ensure better output.
The Commissioner charged learners to diligently tackle each question, avoid examinations malpractices and produce encouraging and admittable results into higher institutions, noting, that their better performances would keep the flag of the State flying among the leading States in terms of provision of quality standards of education.
Prof. Arigbabu accompanied by the Special Adviser and Special Assistant to the Governor on Education, Dr. kiadese Lukmon and Hon. Idowu Daniel, expressed satisfaction and confidence in WAEC over the adequate supply of examinations materials, as well as improvement in this year's exercise.
He applauded the principals of the schools visited for the preparedness of learners and efforts towards getting the candidates ready for the examinations, appealing to them not to rest on their oars, but to continuously work hard to produce students that are pride of the Nation.
"We have gone round the school and I want to say that I'm impressed with what I witnessed so far. Learners were well arranged in the examination halls, the materials were adequately and timely supplied. Sincerely I'm very excited", Arigbabu said
In their remarks, some of the principals of schools visited, Mrs. Olubisi Oyegunle, of Gateway Secondary School, Ita-Iyalode and Mrs. Adeogun Florence of St. Peter's College, Olomore noted that with the provision of conducive environment by the government and smooth conduct of the exercise by WAEC, excellent performance is assured.
