Old Boys Commended For Providing Infrastructure Support To School

 



The 82-87 Set of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School have been commended for providing 560 furniture for the students to support the government towards promoting conducive learning environments for learners in the school.

Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, gave the commendation while receiving the donations from the Class Set, led by their president Mr. Victor Amuwo, saying the generosity would go a long way to impact and improve learners performance positively

Prof. Arigbabu lauded Old Student Associations across the State for being the major developmental partners with the government, acknowledged that they are the only group that gives back to school without expecting anything in return.

"There is no where in the world where government runs the activities of education alone. So we call on parents, old students, philanthropists and cooperate bodies, to cooperate with the government in other to achieve its purpose in terms of giving the best of education to learners," Arigbabu said.


Underscoring the reasons for the donations, the president of the group, Mr. Victor Amuwo, explained that the set met and decided there was a need to create a better enabling learning environment for students in order to replicate the learning atmosphere enjoyed during our their time.

Mr. Amuwo, encouraged learners to let the donations reflect in their results and conducts within the school environment and after school hour, encouraging them to take after their set because they had the record of best results in chemistry and mathematics.

 "This is just the beginning, we are going to do more for

the comfort of learners. Anytime the government calls us for support, we are ready to be in partnership with the government," he said.

Appreciating the government and donors, the Headboy of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School (Jnr), Tiwalade Adekeye, affirmed that the presence of the government and intervention of their old boys had imbibed in them kind hearted spirit of giving back to the society.
