The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), has charged its Divisional Commanders to adopt tactical and strategic approaches in the discharge of their responsibilities to ensure effective traffic management across the State.
The charge was given by the Most Senior Commander of TRACE, Commander Elias Omonayajo, during an extended management meeting of the Agency in Abeokuta.
Commander Omonayajo, emphasised the importance of effective supervision, punctuality and professionalism among personnel, noting that these qualities were essential to efficient traffic management, particularly during peak periods and emergencies.
He urged officers to uphold discipline, teamwork, commitment and professionalism while carrying out the Agency’s mandate of enforcing traffic regulations, calling on personnel to treat members of the public with courtesy, respect and professionalism at all times.
The TRACE boss further tasked Divisional Commanders to provide effective leadership in their respective commands and ensuring that their personnel remain focused, disciplined and responsive to the traffic management needs of the State.
In his remarks, Director of Administration and Supplies, TRACE, Mr. Abubakar Adeduntan, provided officers with detailed guidance on the newly reviewed Public Service Rules governing the conduct of public servants in Ogun State.
Adeduntan, stressed the importance of selflessness, discipline, accountability and humane conduct in the performance of official duties, advised officers to protect the image and reputation of the Ogun State Government and TRACE through responsible and professional conduct.
He warned personnel against extortion and other criminal acts capable of bringing the Agency and the State government into disrepute, stressing that officers found engaging in such acts would face appropriate sanctions in accordance with extant rules.
Mr. Adeduntan, also emphasised the importance of maintaining a neat and professional appearance, while encouraging officers to adopt polite, respectful and humane approaches when dealing with traffic offenders and other road users.
