The newly appointed Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPl. Abiola Ayodele, has charged Directors and other members of staff in the Ministry on the need to uphold discipline, professionalism, integrity and accountability in the discharge of their duties to enhance effective service delivery.
Addressing the management and staff at her maiden meeting in the Ministry's conference centre, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, the Permanent Secretary underscored the importance of wearing official identity cards while on duty, describing it as a symbol of professionalism and security.
She directed all officers to ensure proper identification at all times and warned against misconduct, absenteeism, lateness, bribery, corruption and other unethical practices, informing that offenders would be sanctioned in line with the extant Public Service Rules.
TPl. Ayodele, urged officers to maintain cordial working relationships with their Directors and Supervisors, embrace teamwork, effective communication and diligence, while remaining committed to implementing government programmes and policies.
Responding on behalf of the management team, the most senior Director in the Ministry TPl. Olufunmilayo Adegunle, congratulated the Permanent Secretary on her appointment and described her as a seasoned and visionary administrator whose elevation to the position of a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry would further enhance town planning and urban development in the State.
She assured the Permanent Secretary of the loyalty and cooperation of all staff, pledging their commitment towards improved service delivery.
Also speaking, the Director of Administration and Supply, Mrs. Remi Kasumu, congratulated the Permanent Secretary and pledged the department's unwavering support, urging members of staff to remain disciplined, dedicated and committed to their duties for greater achievements under the new leadership.
