Administrative Officers Urged To Uphold Excellence, Unity

 

The newly appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adedeji Sowunmi, has urged Administrative Officers in the State Civil Service to remain united and uphold the values of excellence that have made the cadre a model for others.

Sowunmi, gave the charge in his Office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, while speaking with members of the Administrative Officers Group led by the Director Administration and Supplies, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Idowu Kehinde, who paid him a courtesy visit and presented him a roll up banner in commemoration of his recent appointment as a Permanent Secretary in the Ogun State Civil/ Public Service.


He described his elevation as divine after years of dedicated service, recalling that he joined the Ogun State Civil Service as an Administrative Officer in 2001, noting that the administrative cadre remained the live wire of every organisation and played a pivotal role in achieving institutional goals.

“I want to charge all of us, when we talk of the Administrative Officers Group, it is a group that other cadres look up to and we must keep the ball rolling. We must continue to strengthen the cadre so that it will never go backward. We must sustain the love among us and continue to work together to achieve greater heights. The sky is the limit for every administrative officer who knows his or her onions,” he said.


The Permanent Secretary lauded the love, solidarity and support extended to him by the Administrative Officers Group which is chaired by the Director, Administration and Supplies, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Johnson Ojo, appealed to members of the group to make ensure that the love existing among them continue to grow.

Earlier in her address, Director, Administration and Supplies, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Idowu Kehinde, who led the group on the courtesy visit, said it was the usual practice of the group to honour any of its members who were elevated.

She commended Governor Dapo Abiodun, for appointing 3 Officers in the Administrative Officers cadre out of the 6 Officers recently elevated to the position of Permanent Secretary in the Ogun State Civil/Public Service.

Also speaking, Director of Administration and Supplies in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. ‘Bayo Sonde, who presented the commemorative roll-up banner on behalf of the group, said the gesture was in recognition of Sowunmi’s exemplary leadership, dedication and outstanding service to the Ogun State Civil Service.
