Ahead of 2027 Elections, Archbishop Challenges Government on Security, Economy Stability

As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Archbishop and General Overseer of Threshing Floor Watchman Assembly, Archbishop Gimbright Adaigho, has urged governments at all levels to intensify efforts in tackling insecurity and economic hardship across the country.

Speaking  during the consecration and installation of Bishop John Ovye Attah at the church’s headquarters in Lafia, Nasarawa State, Adaigho stressed that the nation's challenges require divine intervention and committed leadership.

According to him, Nigerians, particularly Christians, must remain steadfast in faith and continue to pray for the country amid prevailing economic and security difficulties.

He noted that the nation currently needs more intercessors than politicians, emphasizing the importance of prayers in seeking solutions to the challenges confronting citizens.

“As Christians, we should continue to pray so that God Almighty can inspire those occupying positions of authority to find lasting solutions to insecurity and economic challenges facing the country,” he said.

The Archbishop described the newly installed Bishop as a faithful servant of God who has been tested in doctrine, character, and service, expressing confidence that his elevation would strengthen unity within the church and the Christian community.

He further charged Bishop Attah, church ministers, and members to remain committed to holiness, unity, and evangelism in order to win more souls for Christ.

In his acceptance speech, Bishop Attah pledged to build on the foundation already laid and advance the church’s mandate of prayer, vigilance, and the preaching of the undiluted word of God.

“My assignment is simple: to watch over the flock, raise watchmen for the nation, and ensure that the Threshing Floor remains a place where destinies are transformed,” he stated.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Nasarawa State Chapter, Rev. Dr. Sunday Emmah, congratulated the new Bishop and urged him to use his office to promote peace, unity, and spiritual growth among Christians.

Emmah described the elevation as a recognition of Bishop Attah’s years of dedicated service, unwavering commitment to the gospel, and impactful leadership within the body of Christ.

He noted that the cleric had distinguished himself as a visionary leader, passionate preacher, and compassionate shepherd whose ministry has positively impacted countless lives.

The CAN chairman expressed confidence that Bishop Attah’s new position would expand his influence and enable him to touch more lives and communities through the gospel.

The Threshing Floor Watchman Assembly, known for its emphasis on prayer, holiness, and prophetic ministry, operates branches across the 13 local government areas of Nasarawa State.
