Members of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), Ogun State Chapter, have been charged to harness their professional skills and expertise towards driving the socio-economic development of Ogun State.
The Executive Chairman, Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS), Mr. Olugbenga Olaleye gave the charge while receiving a delegation of the Association during a courtesy visit to his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, urging members of the various professional bodies to channel their knowledge and competencies to support revenue growth and overall development in the State.
Olaleye emphasised the need for unity among professionals, noting that collective efforts and teamwork were essential for sustainable development, reassuring the Association of the Agency's support towards the hosting of its programmes and activities.
According to him, "We need to move away from our manual way of doing things and embrace digitalisation in order to enhance efficiency and productivity."
He further encouraged members of the Association to take advantage of the ongoing tax reforms being implemented across the country, noting that the reforms present opportunities for professionals to promote voluntary compliance, and support policies that would strengthen the State’s revenue base.
Earlier, the Chairman of APBN, Ogun State Chapter, Alhaji Femi Ogunsanya, FCA, commended the OGIRS Chairman for his quality leadership and commitment to excellence, describing his fatherly role towards professionals within the Service as exemplary.
He explained that APBN serves as the umbrella body for over 15 recognised professional associations in Ogun, comprising accountants, engineers, lawyers, tax practitioners, and other professionals, disclosing that the 2026 Professional Week and the inauguration of the Association's new Executive Committee would hold later this month.
