No fewer than 3,000 market men and women across Ogun East Senatorial District, have benefited from the 5th market women/men support fund empowerment programme.
The event which took place at Ijebu-Ode, initiated by the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial Districts, Senator Solomon Adeola, who also doubles as the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, said the gesture was aimed at improving small businesses, boosting grassroots economic development and cushioning the effects of the current economic condition of traders.
He stated that the programme was implemented in partnership with the National Productivity Centre, alongside with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the fund was not a loan.
The Senator, also highlighted his sustained investments in market infrastructure, including; the construction of the modern markets, installation of solar-powered boreholes and streetlights, as well as the ongoing construction of two ultra-modern markets in Ogun east.
‘’I want to reaffirmed my commitment to expanding economic opportunities for market women and men across Ogun State," he said.
Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, the Baba Loja, Akile Ijebu, Chief Idowu Salami and Iyaloja, Akile Ijebu, Alhaja Sariyat Adeneye, appreciated the Chairman, Senate Committee on appropriations for the support, through the fund empowerment given to the market women and men of the Senatorial district
