ADC Postpones Presidential, Governorship Screening Over Security Concerns

 


The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has postponed its presidential and governorship screening exercise earlier scheduled for this weekend.

The development was announced in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.

According to the statement, the screening exercise has been rescheduled to Monday, May 18, 2026.

The party also disclosed that, due to the prevailing security challenges in parts of Northern Nigeria, the screening of affected federal lawmaker aspirants will now be conducted in Abuja.

“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) wishes to inform all presidential and governorship aspirants that the party’s screening exercise earlier scheduled for this weekend has been postponed to Monday, 18th May 2026.

“All affected aspirants will be duly contacted with the updated schedules and necessary details,” the statement read.

The party expressed regret over any inconvenience caused and appreciated the understanding and cooperation of aspirants and stakeholders.
